BESPOKE ARTISAN GOWNS
Tania Mitakidis, wife and mother of three, began her journey in the textiles and fashion industry over fourteen years ago.
During this time, Tania gained immeasurable experience as a store owner, bridal designer and now, as the founder and director of luxury textile company, Lace and Embroidery. Tania’s love and knowledge of the textile industry, meshed with motherhood led to the beginnings of a long-held dream, Selene Atelier.
Selene Atelier offers a personalised service to create bespoke and luxurious christening gowns. As a supplier of embroidery and with direct access to production, Tania provides an efficient process to create the perfect fit at the time of celebration.
Having christened her own children, Tania holds dear the overwhelming joy of witnessing your infant enter God’s family. To mark this blessed occasion, Tania aspires to create memorable heirlooms that delve beyond the day's celebration and travel through generations to come.
Selene Atelier is an ode to Tania’s daughter, Selene, to keep faith, celebrate life and chase every dream.
Tania looks forward to welcoming you into the atelier and being part of your child’s special day.

CREATING WITH SELENE ATELIER
A LABOUR OF LOVE
1. DESIGN
The Selene Atelier journey begins with an in-depth consultation in our Sydney showroom, where Tania will discuss your vision, provide embroidery samples and create an initial sketch.
2. CREATE
Once the detailed sketch of the gown is complete, production of our embroidery is underway. Our embroidery features the finest quality of materials and skilled handwork.
3. FIT
When the physical fabric sample is finalised, Tania produces pattern blocks to create a seamless fit. The pattern block method involves hand-drawing the artwork of the embroidery onto the bodice, sleeves and then the skirt.
4. SEW
We then transition to the most anticipated step of our process, that is to seamlessly sew the gown together and bring the sketch to life.
